    November 10, 2022 /

Kapha dosha is one of three constitutions used in ayurveda. Each dosha is a combination of two of the five ayurvedic elements, air, ether, water, fire, and earth. Vata is one of three ayurvedic doshas or constitutions. A dosha is a categorization of elements within the practice of Ayurveda. Often referred to as the sister science of yoga, Ayurveda utilizes five different elements found in nature to bring balance to your body and mind. These five elements are fire, water, air, ether, and earth. Vata dosha is comprised of the elements air and ether and has rough, cold, dry, and light qualities. Looking For A Way To Change Up Your Morning Cup Of Coffee – Try Coconut Oil

    April 10, 2020 /

This post contains affiliate links, read disclaimer for more info. Having a good cup of coffee is one of my favorite morning rituals. Recently, however, we ran out of creamer and milk. Since we’re quarantined I didn’t want to take a quick trip to the store, and I don’t mind black coffee. still, I was sure I could find something in the fridge to spruce it up. Sifting through the shelves I came across a jar of organic coconut oil. I knew coconut oil was used to create bulletproof coffee – a Keto favorite. Still, I didn’t have all the ingredients for a traditional bulletproof cup. So I googled “is coconut oil good…

The Science Of Oil Pulling: An Ayurvedic Remedy

    June 10, 2019 /

This post contains affiliate links read disclaimer for more details Oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic remedy used to promote healthy teeth and gums. Much like mouth wash, you swish the oil in your mouth and pull the oil through your teeth, hence, oil pulling. However, instead of swishing for thirty seconds like mouth wash, oil pulling takes anywhere from ten to twenty minutes for the best results. So what does swishing oil around for twenty minutes actually do? This was my exact thought when I heard of oil pulling. The process doesn’t sound particularly appealing. You can use either sesame oil, sunflower oil, or coconut oil to do this process. I personally,…

    My First Kitchari Cleanse

    April 5, 2019 /

This post contains affiliate links for more info red disclaimer I first heard about Kitchari through Jordan’s blog The Balanced Blonde. While I’ve been interested In Ayurveda since taking my teacher training, I didn’t know much about the practice beyond my own personal body type. When I finally saw an Ayurvedic practitioner, she taught me the ropes of managing my personal bodies balance. She also recommended a Kitchari cleanse to pacify my body type or dosha. She told me what Kitchairi is, how to make it, and what a Kitchari cleanse does for our bodies. What Is Kitchari? Kitchari is a traditional Indian dish made from split mung beans, basmati rice and an…
